Green Sailor HO3. At first light of dawn they sailed out, to return in the afternoon loaded with baskets filled with fresh seafood for the dockside market serving the town. Traveling the coast from Brest to Santander in Northern Spain I used to enjoy the vibrant hull colors, the salty smell, and the daily reality and courage of fishermen sailing out in any weather to bring home their catch. The cobbled docksides, aging wooden piers, boulders, cables and lines, cries of seagulls, together made an everlasting picture in my mind. Our three brightly colored sailers remind one of hand carved models made by fishermen in the many French ports of call during dark and stormy winter nights, when sailing out was just too difficult. Note the codes for Honfleur, La Rochelle, and Marseille, all age old ports with centuries of history. • three colorful boats in red, blue and green shades, with white stand, mast and spars
